Time to get to work

One year ago today, I left my job to spend some long overdue time with my wonderful wife and daughter, and to recharge after quite a few years running at “startup speed.”

When I stopped going into an office every day, I didn’t know how long it would be before I shifted from recharging and research to a dedicated search for my next venture. As it turns out, the shift has happened over the last few weeks, and I’m diving into that process.

One of the first steps I’m taking is kicking off this blog, where I hope to reflect on experiences and lessons learned, explore the process of finding my next company, and hopefully carry on from there with the ever-present ‘what comes next’ in the life of a company, an entrepreneur, an investor, and a technologist.

Another reason I’ve decided to blog is that I’ve ostensibly been out of the corporate world lately, but during this time I have come to feel more connected than ever to the world of technology startups, emerging technology, and venture capital. I quickly realized that I had my daily dose of blog reading to thank; the discussion happening in the blogging world has, for me, changed what it means to be in touch.

I’m looking forward to going from reader to participant in the discussion.

Believe it or not, I’ve missed your “technical wisdom”. I’m glad you’ve taken the time to spend with your family (you ALL deserve it) but I’m glad you’re back to writing.
